Anime is the Japanese version of cartoons. The word itself means "animation" in Japan, and English speaking fans use it to describe the very distinct style of Japanese animation, also sometimes called (Japanimation).
But that’s where the similarities stop. Anime has a much different feel than do American cartoons. You’ll find that most anime shows are a series in the truest sense of the word by carrying a central storyline throughout all the episodes rather than giving the viewers closure at the end of each show. There are exceptions to this of course, but more often than not, you’ll find that "beginning" to "end" spans the entire series rather than just one show.
Movies or cartoons such as eg: The Croods, Saving Santa or Bugs Bunny etc are not Anime! and should not be posted in the Anime section.
