DESCRIPTION: Peakbuster is a transient (attack-phase) boosting, resonance smoothing, and harmonic enhancement AudioUnit, AAX, and VST plugin for professional music and sound production applications. Peakbuster is a multi-band transient enhancer effect plugin that uses an advanced automatic algorithm. Peakbuster stands from the competition in its ability to always sound natural, even on a full-spectrum master bus. The strength of the effect depends on the material being processed: the algorithm masterfully analyses dynamics of the sound it processes, and applies boosting or cutting in quantities that are "exactly right". Moreover, the algorithm has a suitably "fast" reaction time making its adjustments sound "fluid", and not "all over the place".
The amount of effect can be chosen independently for the lower and higher frequency ranges: this permits the use of Peakbuster on a variety of program material, both full mixes and individual tracks.
Additionally, due to the nature of the algorithm’s design, Peakbuster applies a unique harmonic coloration or enhancement: so, even if the gain adjustment meter shows only a minimal gain adjustment amount at a given time, the plugin still transforms the sound being processed in a way that to some engineers may sound "on a completely another level"; we at Voxengo would call it "beyond tube warmness".
Beside transient boosting (M1 mode) and resonance smoothing (M3 mode), Peakbuster also features the "FX1" mode which works as a "spectral compressor" effect that performs a unique transformation useful on individual tracks like bass and vocals, it makes them "stand out". The "M3" mode offers you a transient reduction mode which works as a very transparent "deharsher", "smoother" and "polisher" effect.

Whats new in this version
v1.8 (19 March 2026)
– Made codebase optimizations.
v1.7 (16 July 2024)
- Changed "FX1" mode’s gain for better operation. This change is not backwards-compatible.
- Improved "M3" mode’s performance – this change is backwards-compatible.
- Added the "M3+" mode, which is a more intense variant of the "M3" mode.
- Increased "R" mode’s gain when listening to "M3" and "M3+" modes.
- Further fix to HiDPI VST3 GUI resizing issue in Cubase, on Windows.
- Improved audio-UI interoperability, to reduce a chance of audio stutter happening when UI is active.
