It seems the dead woman was sleeping with a married man. More importantly, it appears several of the women at the retreat were sleeping with the same man.
Avery isn’t a joiner, but she only has one shot at figuring out who killed her victim. She’s going to have to join the retreat, where she will be expected to talk about her feelings-shudder-and eat something that isn’t cooked in grease and served with a side of chili.

Sir Joseph Banks was a man of passion whose influence spanned the globe. A fearless adventurer, his fascination with beautiful women was only trumped by his obsession with the natural world and his lust for scientific knowledge.

Once, the Seven Shapers dwelled in accord. First-born among them was
Haomane, Lord-of-Thought and with his brother and sister gods, the Seven
drew upon of the power of the Souma, claimed a race of beings for their
