NVIDIA RTX hardware acceleration
Octane RTX delivers 2-5x rendering speeds for NVIDIA GPUs with ray tracing and multi-GPU support. RTX acceleration gains increase in more challenging scenes and can be tested using RTX OctaneBench®.
Laminated materials
The new layering system allows you to create a complex material consisting of a base layer, with a maximum of 8 layers that can be inserted on top of the base layer. New nodes include: Layered Material, Diffuse Layer, Specular Layer, Glitter Layer, Metallic Layer, and Layer Group nodes. With unique layered materials, Octane allows you to recreate complex materials in a physically based way, rather than manually mixing materials.
Spectral Random Walk SSS and hair material
