2.2 – Display Cases Update

Version 2.2 adds a collection of display cases of various sizes, each following a standardized style with overhead light bars which can be easily moved around. This is especially effective for highlighting areas of focus within larger display structures. Also included with version 2.2 is a ‘Physical Definition’ material, specifically designed to highlight curvature details on objects (such as sculpts and scans), as seen with the 3D scans in the image above. Note that the 3D scans shown here are not included, and are available on Sketchfab courtesy of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and The Hunt Museum (CC0).

2.1 – Light Shapes Update
Version 2.1 adds a ‘Light Shapes’ category, containing both 3D (geometric) and 2D (image plane) objects that provide complex lighting and reflections to objects. The included image planes are focused on a painterly style, while the 3D geometries are designed to provide a spherical influence of light around a center point. The geometric light shapes also have more advanced light-color control through their associated shaders.

All 21 filters produce a stunning analogue sound with huge resolution and free of any aliasing. From singing Comb to a steep 8-pole Lowpass from dirty Diode MS to the gnarly 030. WOW2 offers all the filters you can wish for. And all of them work in Vowel Mode, showing off the wide variety of humanoid sounds.
The extraordinary modulation system multiplies the posibilities to modular level: for instance with modulatable modulators.
The presets are a good place to start. Or try a steep 8-pole LP on a bass and taste that bubbly, smacky sound.

WOW’s talkbox lets you pick any two vowels out of a choice of nine.
Swing the cutoff between two vowels to create formant-shaping effects on your dry signal. Modulate the cutoff (or the selected vowels themselves.) for distinct chorus and flanger effects. Works best with Comb or Bandpass combined on high resonance settings!

Modulation is Power
The real magic happens when modulation steps in.
There are four sources: an envelope follower with frequency detection, the LFO with 13 waveforms, a 16-step step sequencer and the Wobble Knob (lifted from our Cyclop synth).
Targets and intensity (bi-polar) are assigned in the circular elements at the foot of the modulation section – or you just right click any parameter and assign a source – couldn’t be easier.

The Wobble Generator
Pushing the Mod Section to extremes.
This is a different beast compared to the other modulators. The central knob controls two things: the shape of the LFO (16 different waveforms) while also changing the speed (12 tempo-synced rates).
The knob can be modulated itself (pick the LFO for a start) and this is what the wobble control is all about: to get that knob moving!

The Distortion Unit
Fourfold Oversampling for harmonic Manipulation without Aliasing.
Seven algorithms can be engaged before or after the filter section, which greatly broadens the sonic range. Pick the tube-inspired "Parabolic", the delicately-chiselled "Bit Crusher", a Sine(!) or "Diabolic" from digital hell.
Volume is stable even at high levels, which will save you cumbersome automations when things get rather dynamic.

It comes with 8 knobs, each firing up an effect and varying it with its dial. It invites play and experimentation with one or several effects. Customize 24 effects in expert mode. If you want it even more compact, you can control all 8 effects simultaneously with a single fader in Dictator Mode.
Remix Digital Audio
Re-interpret existing material. Defining Turnado as a multi-effects processor doesn’t capture the essence of what it’s all about. You can subtly use reverb and delay – but what makes it very different from a conventional multi-effects unit is the combination of effects types available and its real-time control options.
The GUI is clutter free with bright and clean graphics. Open it up, and you’ll instantly understand the concept. Turnado is rock solid and light on CPU if you plan to use it in a live performance or, say, in a dozen instances simultaneously. As a plug-in in the studio or on stage, Turnado will prove as a surprisingly versatile tool while its operation is cast into a bare minimum of controls.
If you’re not an octopus, the "Dictator" is probably a feature of interest: this fader provides a unique way of controlling multiple knobs with just one slide. Here you can set up for each knob when and how much to be rotated. Of course, you can automate all controls in Turnado. Or, if you’re looking for a more natural approach, remote-control them via MIDI.
