Das Aesch Mezareph spannt den Bogen zwischen den alten Kabbalisten bis zur Alchemie. Auch hier ist Gold das perfekte, reine und somit erlöste Metall, während die anderen Metalle noch unerlöst sind. Zur Erlösung und damit zur Golderstellung bietet sich der alchemistische Prozess an, in dessen Zentrum der Ofen, der Athanor steht. Diese alchemistische Vorstellung bringt uns dann auch zum Titel des Buches – das reinigende Feuer ist schlussendlich der alchemistische Prozess. Aber auch die moralische Reinheit ist stets zu wahren, um wirklich erfolgreich zu sein. Der Prozess ist sicher nicht trivial und benötigt eine Menge Zeit, oder wie es im Buch heißt: "keiner ist Weise, es sei denn sein Meister ist die Erfahrung."
