Publisher: Springer-Verlag New York, LLC
ISBN: 9783031674228
Total pages: 283

Description:

This book introduces readers to order analysis and various aspects of deep learning, and describes important connections to optimization, such as nonlinear optimization as well as vector and set optimization. Besides a review of the essentials, this book consists of two main parts.
The first main part focuses on the introduction of order analysis as an application-driven theory, which allows to treat order structures with an analytical approach. Applications of order analysis to nonlinear optimization, as well as vector and set optimization with fixed and variable order structures, are discussed in detail. This means there are close ties to finance, operations research, and multicriteria decision making.
Deep learning is the subject of the second main part of this book. In addition to the usual basics, the focus is on gradient methods, which are investigated in the context of complex models with a large number of parameters. And a new fast variant of a gradient method is presented in this part. Finally, the deep learning approach is extended to data sets given by set-valued data. Although this set-valued approach is more computationally intensive, it has the advantage of producing more robust predictions.
This book is primarily intended for researchers in the fields of optimization, order theory, or artificial intelligence (AI), but it will also benefit graduate students with a general interest in these fields. The book assumes that readers have a basic understanding of functional analysis or at least basic analysis. By unifying and streamlining existing approaches, this work will also appeal to professionals seeking a comprehensive and straightforward perspective on AI or order theory approaches.

Description:

This book helps to bridge the knowledge gap that currently surrounds space technology and its method of exploration and highlights much-needed awareness and attention to an increase in Space Law and sustainable measures. The ever-increasing usage of space-based solutions by both public and commercial entities is producing congestion in the radio frequency spectrum as well as orbital slots. The inevitable commercialization of satellite technology will certainly result in a proliferation of privately owned and managed satellite spacecraft in low-Earth orbits. Cyber vulnerabilities in the Air Force and the DoD frequently ignore satellite ground systems. Space ground system cyber security assaults and investigations include those involving satellite control, communications terminal hacking, and GPS spoofing. A continuous cyber security assessment technique is required for space systems to identify, assess, reduce, and address sophisticated cyber threats. Risk-based compliance, regular cybersecurity risk assessments, and a renewed focus on the elimination of system flaws at the time of design are all necessary for space ground and control systems.
Due to the absence of a rigid regulatory framework, satellites play a significant part in the production of space debris, which is a source of increasing worry. Such debris manufactured artificially contributes greatly to the destruction of the environment in Earth’s orbit. There is not a single framework in existence that can appropriately govern contemporary concerns like the security of satellite data and debris in orbit. The Department of Defence (DoD) is now responsible for monitoring all objects in space; however, it cannot require satellite operators to take precautions against potential collisions.

Description:

The four contributions collected in this volume deal with several advanced results in analytic number theory. Friedlander’s paper contains some recent achievements of sieve theory leading to asymptotic formulae for the number of primes represented by suitable polynomials. Heath-Brown’s lecture notes mainly deal with counting integer solutions to Diophantine equations, using among other tools several results from algebraic geometry and from the geometry of numbers. Iwaniec’s paper gives a broad picture of the theory of Siegel’s zeros and of exceptional characters of L-functions, and gives a new proof of Linnik’s theorem on the least prime in an arithmetic progression. Kaczorowski’s article presents an up-to-date survey of the axiomatic theory of L-functions introduced by Selberg, with a detailed exposition of several recent results.

Publisher: Springer-Verlag New York, LLC
ISBN: 9783319163420

Description:

There is a large gap between the engineering course in tensor algebra on the one hand and the treatment of linear transformations within classical linear algebra on the other hand. The aim of this modern textbook is to bridge this gap by means of the consequent and fundamental exposition.
The book is addressed primarily to engineering students with some initial knowledge of matrix algebra. Thereby the mathematical formalism is applied as far as it is absolutely necessary. Numerous exercises provided in the book are accompanied by solutions enabling an autonomous study. The last chapters of the book deal with modern developments in the theory of isotropic and anisotropic tensor functions and their applications to continuum mechanics and might therefore be of high interest for PhD-students and scientists working in this area.
This second edition is completed by a number of additional examples and exercises. The text and formulae are thoroughly revised and improved where necessary.

Publisher: Springer Nature Switzerland
ISBN: 9783031944260

Description:

This book is for design engineers building isolated DC-DC converters for commercial products. It provides guidance and recommendations to help engineers make decisions that prevent mistakes during product development, ensure the design process is as predictable as possible, create more reliable and cost-effective hardware, and do their designs in a shorter period. The authors focus on converters that operate at 2 kW and above, have high conversion ratios, and have at least one low-voltage terminal that conducts several 100 A’s or more. These operating characteristics satisfy critical automotive, aerospace, military, manufacturing, and telecommunication needs. Coverage includes guidelines for successfully using silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) power devices, including techniques for gate-drive design, printed circuit board layout, and failure mechanisms.
This practical reference manual shows professional engineers how to consider the whole picture of a power conversion system during their design process. It is also a valuable guide for researchers and graduate students working in the field of power electronics.
