Publisher: Springer-Verlag New York, LLC
ISBN: 9789819603282
Total pages: 429

Description:

This book mainly provides recent advances in finite-time and fixed-time control issues for complex networks and neural networks. It is well known that finite-time techniques have more advantages over asymptotical ones. Besides fast convergence rates, finite-time techniques have better robustness and disturbance rejection properties. However, it is challenging to deal with time delay in studying finite-time control. For readers’ easy understanding, the finite-time control issue for systems with and without time delays is separately introduced in this book. Moreover, the issues of finite-time and fixed-time control for differential equations with discontinuous states on the right-hand side are also considered. Many interesting results concerning finite-time and fixed-time synchronization are provided in the form of lemmas, theorems, or corollaries, accompanied by systematic theoretical analysis for the proof of their sufficient conditions, controller design, and new analysis techniques. Each new result is verified by at least one numerical example with detailed data analysis. Therefore, this book is an advantageous tool and is beneficial for interested experts and scholars in the control field.

Author: Jiashi Yang
Language: angielski
Year: 2025
Subjects: Science & Technology, Mathematics, Mathematical Equations, Mathematical Equations – Differential
Publisher: Birkhäuser
ISBN: 9783031861185
Total pages: 197

Description:

This textbook presents a concise and comprehensive treatment of the theory of elasticity. It covers both the linear and nonlinear aspects of the theory, including both statics and dynamics. Written to be accessible to the graduate student reader, this text promotes approachability by minimizing the use of complex mathematical tools, and instead emphasizing the formulation of the initial boundary value problems. This approach makes it an ideal resource for students as well as instructors seeking a textbook designed for a one-semester graduate course in elasticity.
Divided into ten chapters, the book begins with a brief review of the mechanics of materials. The theory of Cartesian tensors is then introduced, which serves as a mathematical preparation for the concise treatment of the nonlinear theory of elasticity that follows. The theory of linear elasticity is covered next with the remainder of the book then focusing on problem solving in linear elasticity. These chapters cover topics such as antiplane problems, plane-stress and plane-strain problems, and elastodynamics. Five appendices appear at the end, which include basic equations of elasticity in cylindrical, polar, and spherical coordinates, as well as a collection of vector identities that appear throughout the book.
A Concise Course in Elasticity is an ideal textbook for a one-semester graduate course on elasticity. Graduate students interested in this topic will appreciate the author’s accessible approach. Instructors will find the comprehensive coverage uniquely suited to providing an overview of the area. Readers are assumed to have some experience at the undergraduate level of the mechanics of materials.

Description:

This book proposes secure schemes to address security challenges in secure automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast systems (ADS-B) from five different angles. First, the authors examine encryption schemes applied to the ADS-B environment for protecting messages confidentiality. Second, they propose an ADS-B broadcast authentication scheme with batch verification by employing an identity-based signature. Third, they present ADS-B broadcast authentication scheme based on a digital signature with message recovery, which provides a feature that the message is recoverable from the signature. Fourth, they propose a new cryptographic solution to ADS-B security. Finally, they propose an accurate and efficient cognitive aircraft location verification scheme preserving aircraft location privacy by utilizing a grid-based k-nearest neighbor algorithm. In summary, the authors show how ADS-B data links can greatly enhance flight safety by these proposed schemes without sacrificing data security.
