The Vero Software, a part of Hexagon has released AlphaCAM 2025.1 is the CAM software of choice for the routing and stone-cutting industries. This latest release brings significant advancements focused on improving the user experience, enhancing clarity, and expanding manufacturing possibilities.

The ALPHACAM 2025.1 update is now live, bringing a suite of refinements to enhance your workflow. One significant improvement you’ll notice is the introduction of Coloured Reporting.

Previously, reports could be dense with data, requiring careful manual review to spot critical information. With ALPHACAM 2025.1, reports now leverage conditional formatting to provide immediate visual cues. This means you can set rules to automatically highlight specific values, indicate missing operations, or flag toolpath warnings directly within your reports. For instance, if a part in a nesting layout has no machining operations assigned, or if a material type doesn’t match a certain parameter, the report can visually emphasize this information with a designated colour.

This feature is designed to make your reports smarter and more intuitive. By transforming raw data into actionable visual insights, you can quickly identify potential issues, verify job completeness, and ensure consistency across your projects. This reduces the time spent on manual checks, minimises the risk of errors, and ultimately fosters clearer communication between your programming and shop floor teams.

ALPHACAM 2025.1: Enhanced Capabilities and Streamlined Workflows

Key Areas of Improvement:

• Enhanced Solid Model Rendering: Solid models now load with improved default tolerance, appearing much smoother with more defined edges. This means you’ll spend less time constantly refreshing (CTRL + R) to regenerate the model at higher tolerances, leading to a smoother workflow and better user experience when working with solids.
• Improved Display Options: ALPHACAM 2025.1 introduces a new Saw Display Option that provides a scaled visual representation of your saw, showing crucial details like direction, depth of cut, and saw/cut extents. Additionally, Ghost Tools now match the colour of their associated Geometry. These enhancements offer clearer verification of saw toolpaths, improved clarity of cut and geometry directions, and a better overall understanding of your drawing

• Advanced 5-Axis Capabilities: The 5-axis functionality has been updated with the latest machining library, bringing new features, improvements, and bug fixes. You’ll find new tooling options, including user-defined shaft profiles and enhanced barrel mill parameters. This update provides greater control over multi-axis roughing, swarf, and surface machining cycles, along with more advanced tooling types, ensuring more consistent and accurate simulation and toolpath generation.
• Aspire for ALPHACAM – Updated to V12: ALPHACAM now integrates with Aspire V12, featuring a fully modernised and streamlined user interface. This includes enhanced 3D CAD tools like sketch carving, cross-sectioning, and direct vector creation in the 3D view. Enjoy an improved workspace layout and responsiveness with better DPI scaling and panel management, resulting in a more refined interface, clearer visuals, and increased design control.
• Colored Images in Reports: You can now see colored parts and nested sheets visually represented directly in your reports. This makes parts easier to identify on sheets from the Parts List, simplifies spotting errors or inconsistencies in nesting layouts, and makes your reports more visually engaging and easier to interpret.

• A new "Show Missing Machining Styles" button highlights Layer Mapping Setups with missing styles, instantly improving error visibility.
• A "Highlight Unused Setups" feature identifies and marks Layer Mapping Setups that aren’t actively used or set as default, helping you quickly recognise redundant configurations.
• A Minimum 3D Bounding Box Alignment option has been added for irregularly shaped solid parts, aligning the longest edge to the X or Y-axis for more optimal rotation and placement.
• Multi-Select Job File Processing allows you to select multiple Job Files or CDM Doors using CTRL + click to process them in one action.
