The Gaza Strip is among the most densely populated places in the world. More than two-thirds of its inhabitants are refugees, and more than half are under eighteen years of age. Since 2004, Israel has launched eight devastating "operations" against Gaza’s largely defenseless population. Thousands have perished, and tens of thousands have been left homeless. In the meantime, Israel has subjected Gaza to a merciless illegal blockade.

What has befallen Gaza is a man-made humanitarian disaster.

Based on scores of human rights reports, Norman G. Finkelstein’s new book presents a meticulously researched inquest into Gaza’s martyrdom. He shows that although Israel has justified its assaults in the name of self-defense, in fact these actions constituted flagrant violations of international law.

But Finkelstein also documents that the guardians of international law-from Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to the UN Human Rights Council-ultimately failed Gaza. One of his most disturbing conclusions is that, after Judge Richard Goldstone’s humiliating retraction of his UN report, human rights organizations succumbed to the Israeli juggernaut.

Księga Oera Linda (fryz. Oera Linda bok, hol. Oera Linda boek, ang. Oera Linda book, niem. Ura-Linda-Chronik, ros. -) to historyczne, mitologiczne i religijne teksty fryzyjskie, odkryte w XIX wieku. Dziś większość naukowców uważa, że księga ta jest mistyfikacją, ale istnieją również zwolennicy jej autentyczności. Księga zawiera idee nacjonalizmu i skrajnego europocentryzmu, dowodząc ponadto iż idealnym ustrojem społecznym jest matriarchat i rządy kobiet. Opisane są w nim dzieje Fryzów i Europy w okresie między 2194 p.n.e. a 803 n.e. Jest to drugie po Platonie europejskie źródło pisane, które mówi o zagładzie Atlantydy, wymieniając ten mityczny ląd z nazwy. Cornelius Over de Linden (1811-74),główny dozorca Stoczni Królewskiej w Helder, był w posiadaniu bardzo starego manuskryptu, który był dziedziczony i przechowywany w jego rodzinie od niepamiętnych czasów i nikt nie wiedział, skąd się wziął i co zawiera, ponieważ sporządzony był w nieznanym języku i piśmie. Wiadomo było tylko tyle, że zawartą w nim tradycję z pokolenia na pokolenie polecano uważnie chronić. Okazało się, że tradycja kryje się w treści dwóch listów, które otwierają manuskrypt, od Hido oera Linda, anno 1256 i od Liko oera Linda, anno 803. Do C. Over de Lindena dotarł on z polecenia jego dziadka, Den Heer Andries Over de Lindena, który mieszkał w Enkhuizen i tam 15 kwietnia 1820 roku zmarł w wieku sześćdziesięciu jeden lat. Ponieważ jego wnuk miał wtedy zaledwie dziesięć lat, manuskryptem zaopiekowała się za niego ciotka, Aafje Meylhoff, z domu Over de Linden, mieszkająca w Enkhuizen, która w kwietniu 1848 roku przekazała go późniejszemu właścicielowi. Usłyszawszy o tym, dr E. Verwijs poprosił o pozwolenie zbadania manuskryptu i natychmiast rozpoznał go jako bardzo stary tekst fryzyjski. Przekładu na angielski w roku 1876 dokonał William R. Sandbach. Ponad czterdzieści lat później, począwszy od 1922 roku, holenderski filolog Herman Wirth ożywił problem. Wirth w 1933 r. opublikował niemieckie tłumaczenie pt. Die Ura Linda Chronik i nazwał tę księgę Biblią nordycką. Dzieło zdobyło powszechne uznanie wśród nazistowskich naukowców. Himmler wprost się nim zauroczył i to do tego stopnia, że Księgę Oera Linda poczęto w tym czasie nazywać w Niemczech Biblią Himmlera.Po upadku nazizmu księga poszła do lamusa, dopiero w późniejszych czasach przypomniał ją anglojęzyczny pisarz Robert Scrutton w dziełach The Other Atlantis (1977) and Secrets of Lost Atland (1979).
